Emergency aid for Cambodian families couldn't wait

Hi everyone,

As many of you would be aware I'm hosting a trip to Cambodia in a little over four weeks from now and one of the activities we had planned while in country was to provide some emergency food aid to some of our remote village families in the far north of the country who have struggled to access employment in the wake of the Covid pandemic.

In anticipation of our visit our project director in Cambodia, Pastor Abe, dropped in on a number of these families last week to see how they were travelling, only to find quite unexpectedly that many were in a very desperate situation with little or no food left at all and no hope of help.

With this in mind he immediately ordered some emergency provisions and on the weekend distributed those to 91 families who were on the brink of starvation (see pics). Each family received a 50kg bag of rice and an assortment of tuna, eggs, soy milk and sauces.

We are grateful for the ability to be able to provide such amazing support for these struggling families and the dedication of Abe and his team and look forward to following up during our visit with another mobile emergency food program when we hope to get off the beaten track and deliver provision directly to these and other families.
