I can see clearly now
How's this for a great little story about repurposing some items many of us have clogging up our car glove boxes and kitchen utility drawers.
On a recent trip to Cambodia we brought with us a couple of boxes of corrective lens glasses that some friends of our project donated and we left them behind for our local team on the ground to distribute after we left.
The glasses were taken to the remote and very poor village of Oddar Meanchey in the country's north where we operate one of our schools and some of the poorest families on the planet struggle to survive.
Word spread pretty quickly that our team had free glasses to hand out and on the designated day 120 people turned up for a chance to secure one of the 60 pairs on offer.
The villagers were ecstatic to receive their glasses, something they would never be able to afford to buy for themselves and we have since heard from many of them that it has been literally life changing to be able to see clearly again.
A massive thank you to those who donated the glasses and we have resolved to make this a regular thing that we do when visiting Cambodia.
We would love for you to consider partnering with us in an array of great projects across two of Cambodia's poorest provinces by making a tax deductible donation today (or any day). You can contribute directly into our Australian working account ‘Supporting Cambodia’ BSB: 015-600 Account: 1967 91878 (Please include your name and email address in the transaction for a tax receipt) or with a credit card on our donation page.
Many thanks,
Rob
