You won't believe how much we raised for Cambodia projects

Just a quick shout out to share with you the amazing final tally from our annual Cambodia projects fundraiser at the Kingscote Show on Saturday. We had an enthusiastic gang of willing volunteers help out throughout the day with making and selling an array of delicious temptations from gourmet hot dogs, mountainous waffle cone ice creams and homemade cakes and biscuits, together with ice cold drinks. The warmer weather certainly helped with sales on the day.

As many of you would be aware this is our biggest single fundraising event for the year and I'm so excited to report that once all the numbers were crunched by our finance department last night (thanks wifey) the final amount came to a staggering .... $5,200!! As well as great sales over the counter, our volunteers were really encouraged by the 'keep the change' moments and one-off donations that were regularly made. This is such an amazing outcome and will have a tremendous impact on the ground in Cambodia where we support some of the poorest families on the planet.

A big akun tran (thanks in Khmer) goes out to our tireless volunteers and many sponsors and supporters who made this possible. It is such an encouragement to me and our team in Cambodia. We would love for you to consider partnering with us in an array of great projects across two of Cambodia's poorest provinces by making a tax deductible donation today (or any day). You can contribute directly into our Australian working account ‘Supporting Cambodia’ BSB: 015-600 Account: 1967 91878 (Please include your name and email address in the transaction for a tax receipt) or with a credit card on our donation page.

Many thanks,

Rob

Rob Ellson, Chairman

Rob Ellson was one of a group of 15 Kangaroo Islanders who visited Cambodia for the first time in 2009. Witnessing a struggling community of more than 1,000 displaced people greatly impacted all of the Kangaroo Island group. After returning home to Kangaroo Island, Rob couldn't let go of the needs of those families.  Over the coming months and subsequent visits back to Cambodia he founded ‘Kangaroo Island Supporting Cambodia’.
