The unseasonably high rainfall of this past wet season has dealt a cruel blow to many of our struggling OM families who still have their backs to the wall as a result of the Covid pandemic.

"Keep the change" and "here's an extra donation" were common phrases heard throughout the day and it's a terrific reminder of the generosity of the human spirit, especially in these uncertain times.

Most of these kids have parents who work over the border in neighbouring Thailand and only see them for a few weeks of the year, so this house is a really important constant in their lives and is their fulltime home.

We held the Kangaroo Island Supporting Cambodia AGM on the weekend and I thought you may be interested to read the Chairperson's Report that I presented at the meeting that gives an overview of how the projects have been tracking this past year.

You may recall that there was a sense of urgency to acquire these new Government issued (but not funded) text books that our primary school curriculum that we deliver to in excess of 1200 students at two schools is based on as the current ones are about to be superseded.

Our remote high school boarding house where we are constructing some new bathroom and kitchen facilities to make life more comfortable and hygienic for the 60 plus kids who call it home

Strict hygiene practices are being maintained at both schools and the lengths our staff members are going to to ensure the safety of the students and their families is above and beyond and is testament to their dedication.
